1500.425 EMERITUS/DISTINGUISHED SERVICE HONOR

A. 荣誉委员会

The 总统 will annually appoint a committee of two faculty, two exempt and two classified to review nominations of retired staff for emeritus or distinguished status.

B. 荣誉

The board of trustees has authorized the following honors for retired employees who have served the institution with distinction over a lengthy career.

1. 荣誉退休教授
   This award is presented to a faculty member upon retirement from 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College who has demonstrated outstanding and distinguished service to 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College during the past 15 years. Criteria for selection include, but are not limited to, dedication and service to 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College and the profession as evidenced by:
   1. Activities that enhance the image of 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College (teaching, publications, 研究).
   2. Outstanding long-term contribution to 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College (implementation of 创新项目等.)
   3. 创新和创造力.
   4. Commitment of both time and energy.
   5. Retirement from 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College.
      Upon nomination by the faculty or administration, a recommendation along with accompanying documentation will be forwarded to the honors committee.
2. 名誉院长
   This award is presented to an administrator, upon retirement from 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College, who has demonstrated outstanding and distinguished service to 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College during the past ten years. Criteria for selection include, but are not limited to, dedication and service to 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College and the profession as evidenced by:
   1. Activities that enhance the image of 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College;
   2. Administrative leadership and philosophy that generates support of the staff, faculty 和管理.
   3. Participation in community activities.
   4. Retirement from 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College.
   5. Upon nomination by the faculty or administration, a recommendation along with accompanying documentation will be forwarded to an emeritus selection committee chosen by the college 总统.
3. 杰出服务奖
   The distinguished service award is presented to a retiring classified or exempt employee who has demonstrated outstanding and distinguished service to 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College over a 20-year period of service. Criteria for the selection of award include, but are not limited to, dedication and service to 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College as evidenced by:
   1. Commitment of both time and energy.
   2. Activities that enhance the image of 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College.
   3. Retirement from 皇冠8868会员登录 Valley College.

C. 提名及奖项

1. Nominations for honors status are submitted to the 总统, who calls the honors committee to consider nominations. A majority vote is required to recommend a candidate for consideration by the board of trustees. Recommendations of the committee shall be submitted to the 总统 who will present that recommendation to the board of trustees for their consideration and action.
2. Recipients of this award will have their name published in the college catalog and will receive a plaque and a gold card, providing complimentary admission to all college-sponsored activities and the foundation annual dinner, a complimentary parking permit, and complimentary 使用大学图书馆.
