运行开始 students are limited to "college-level" courses at the community college, and the placement 测试 results are used to determine readiness for college-level work. To qualify for non-math related courses, students need a college-level score in the WritePlacer section of the Accuplacer.  A score of 5 or higher is considered to indicate 学院准备.  To qualify for math-related courses, students may qualify with a grade of C or higher in Algebra 2 at the high school.  They need to provide copies of transcripts to the 运行开始 office to be placed using this method.

学生 may also qualify for 运行开始 and college-level courses using the Smarter Balanced Assessment.  学生 achieving a level 3 or 4 on the SBAC:ELA or the SBAC:Mathematics, may be placed in college-level courses by providing copies of the scores to the Running 开始办公室.

放置 Test Information

• The Writeplacer is timed and usually takes an hour to complete.
• The placement 测试 costs $8. Once you have completed the 测试, no refund can be issued.
• Valid photo ID is required to 测试. Please bring your receipt and ID to the 测试 session.
• Calculators, pencils, and scratch paper are provided.
• Scores are valid for 3 years. 学生 must wait 3 months before re测试ing.
• If you have a learning or physical disability, contact the WVC Student 访问 Coordinator before you schedule your 测试 (in 皇冠8868会员登录 call Lisa Foster at 509.682.6854或in Omak call Vicki Turner at 509.422.7812).

• The 皇冠8868会员登录 测试中心 is located on the first floor of Wenatchi Hall. 呼叫 or stop by to schedule a 测试 (509.682.6830).
• Arrive 10-15 minutes early to your 测试. If you park in the 访问ors 停车 Lot, request a free parking day-pass at the 测试中心.
• Pay the 测试 fee at the Cashiers Office in Wenatchi Hall prior to taking your 测试.
• 皇冠8868会员登录 测试ing is typically held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 2:00pm and Thursdays 日上午. However, this schedule is subject to change.
• To request a copy of your scores, please fill out a request form and email, fax, mail, or bring it into the 测试ing center.

Omak 测试中心

• Omak 测试s are typically held Monday through Thursday at 8:30am or 1:30pm.
• Testing takes place in the 政府 Building at 116 West Apple Avenue in Omak.
• If you are a high school student who is interested in the 运行开始 program at the Omak campus, do 不 take the Pre-放置 Questionnaire; instead contact the 运行开始 Educational Planner in Omak for program eligibility requirements (509.422.7848).

 

If you choose to bring your own calculator, the following are 不 allowed for the placement 测试:      

• Casio: CFX-9970G, CFX-9970GE, Algebra fx 2.0
• Texas Instruments: TI-89, TI-92, TI-92 plus
• Hewlett Packard: HP-40G and HP-49G
